THE NOTRE HOME TOUR - PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL (10 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS)
I had the pleasure of spending the day with a group of students, teaching them how to rap, write rhymes and perform. They all created a rap alias and wrote 4-8 lines representing their story. They ended up ciphering and we caught it all on film! This was such an awesome day!

This shoe taught me a lesson this morning.
I am currently in Rouyn Noranda touring the province with the Notre Home workshops and I had the worst thing happen to me. So, I get out of the shower, bright an early, all fresh for the day. I am a little vain when it comes to my jeans/shoe combo, so I really wanted to see it in a mirror. However, this hotel room did not have the fully body mirror. So, smartly, I stood up on a chair to see my jeans and shoes in the mirror on the table. It worked out smoothly, but as I stepped off the chair, my right foot landed on THIS SHOE (planted so cleverly next to the chair), which curbed my landing and had my full body weight fall onto a sprained ankle. The cracking sound filled the room as I then cried, yelled in pain and broke out into terrible sweats. As I managed to finally sit up on the bed and look at the damage, I thought….how could this happen???? How am I supposed to do these next 4 workshops with no walking???? What was I thinking???? Why was I that vain???? Adam (who is on tour with me) came out and we discussed our alternatives.
It was weird because initially I felt defeated and felt it was better if we returned home and got my ankle treated. But then I thought about Lazy Legz and his message about ‘No Excuses, No Limits”. It resonated with me and made me realize a lot about myself. As ashamed as I am for what happened, it showed how quickly things can change from moment to moment and that our outlook needs to stay positive regardless of how bad a situation can get or seem. I decided that I WILL NOT GIVE UP even if I can’t really walk. Needless to say, I still rocked the workshops and met some of the coolest kids ever! I’m writing this message from the bed, leg elevated, ice every 20 minutes! I think we’ll order some pizza. #NotreHome

CQSB / VEQ PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL in QUEBEC CITY!
I was given the opportunity to do a workshop with 11 students. I ended up teaching them the Notre Home song to be performed at the night event. They had 2 hours to learn and rehearse, which is not an easy task considering they didn’t have much stage experience. Needless to say, they did an outstanding job and made this a memorable night in the Hodges books!
